Strong working knowledge of laws and regulations related to SBA, CRA, community development lending products, investment opportunities/vehicles and public support programs.General knowledge of common tax credit solutions: New Market Tax Credits, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits.Strong working knowledge of Small Business Banking; SBA lending experience preferredSolid technology abilities, including proficiency with Microsoft office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint) and strong internet research skills.Excellent listening, presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills; ability to foster effective business partnerships with diverse teams. Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events on behalf of the organization.Self-driven and highly motivated; takes pride in meeting and exceeding goals.Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent discretion in evaluating information, making recommendations, and communicating with others. Job Description:

This full-time position is located at the Midwest Main Bank facility with Central Bank of the Midwest.Central Bank is growing and we are looking for a seasoned Community Business Relationship Manager to help us continue to scale our growth initiatives in the communities we serve. Our ideal candidate serves the banking needs of businesses with typically less than $5 million in revenue and will proactively operate at the heart of the local business community, build new relationships and actively manage a loan portfolio. The CBRM will be responsible for driving performance by partnering with the CBMW's Commercial Lenders, Banking Center Managers and their teams, including joint calling, coaching and other support. The Community Business Relationship Manager (CBRM) is responsible for identifying community development needs for the low and moderate-income (LMI) in assigned assessment area and building relationships with community partners and other resource providers involved in meeting those needs. The CBRM will develop and execute lending, investment and service opportunities that are responsive to the needs of the small business community, aligned with CBMW's business model, and achieve an outstanding level of CRA performance in assigned assessment area(s). Primary responsibilities include active business development and origination of SBA 7(a) real estate and non-real estate loan products in the business marketplace, becoming a SBA subject matter expert, supporting CBMW's commercial lenders in their SBA lending activities, and being the designated small business lender for the CBMW. We know our associates deliver their best when supported, so we will equip you with all the knowledge and tools you need through a training/introduction program with one-on-one support from your Market and Regional President.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct relationship and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems including but not limited to: the Code of Conduct and Ethics, Bank Secrecy Act and, all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.Outreach efforts will include but are not limited to lead lists, internal and external referrals and cold calling.The CBRM will be responsible for appropriate structure of lending opportunities, loan pricing in accordance with the Bank’s guidelines and fee/premium strategy, providing initial credit analysis for lending activities, and SBA/USDA form processing. Drive relationship management through cross-sell opportunities and collaboration with Bank referral partners to help provide a full spectrum financial service relationship through joint calling efforts.Develop a targeted COI (center of influence) list and have a detailed plan to build relationships that lead to referral business in support of overall organizational goals.Effectively utilize the resources/tools available to manage client relationships consistent with the CBMW sales process and activities.Sell full scope of financial solutions including opening deposit accounts, completing the entire loan origination process and servicing the ongoing needs of customers.Become Bank's subject matter expert for SBA lending serving as a resource and support for other Commercial Lenders originating SBA loans. Primary focus is on new business development for lending and deposits in an assigned area (travel by car required) with clear expectations on sales and service goals. The CBRM will source a minimum 75% of business from outside leads and internally-generated referrals, and maintain established personal loan production objectives. Represent the Bank in all aspects of community outreach, including identifying opportunities to increase firm-wide engagement and strengthen the firm's Brand and reputation while coordinating an effective response that leverages the Bank’s capital (both human and dollar).Have and enhance knowledge of, and relationships with, key community influencers such as advocates, policy and civic organizations, local-city-state governments, and other national, regional and local nonprofits that serve the needs of the LMI.Generate Community Development (“CD”) lending, investment and service opportunities that are responsive to the needs in the assigned AA(s). Look for opportunities to create innovative, complex, flexible, and collaborative CD lending and investment transactions. Seek opportunities for the Bank to add value through our products and services that enhance the relationship across all business lines where possible. Generate “Community Development Dollar” and Small Business Loan transactions through relationships created and referred through branch network.As appropriate and effective, serve on the boards and committees of not-for-profit organizations whose primary purpose serve the LMI community and aligns with the bank’s community engagement goals. Develop and implement marketing activities within the budgetary constraints established by supervisor.Accountabilities:Required to make a weekly/monthly target number of in person calls to prospects, customers, COIs and internal partners as determined by supervisor.Manage and grow commercial loan portfolio to a minimum $25 MM by deepening existing relationships.Participate in the Commercial Lending production and incentive plan with individual goals established by senior management annually.Maintain reports on loan pipeline and progress toward assigned goals in the assigned AA(s).Other duties may be assigned.
