Job Description

Performs all duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring, coaxial cable and fiber optic harnesses on aircraft. Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary. Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves. Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and relays with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder. Performs post-installation continuity testing. Troubleshoots aircraft problems and performs component removals and installations as required. Performs work in accordance with engineering drawing requirements, technical specifications, technical orders, wiring diagrams and engineering direction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and 4 years related experience or AA degree with applicable aircraft electrical experience.

  • Must be able to work from blueprint drawings, apply specifications and complete work within strict quality standards.

  • Must have aircraft modification and/or aircraft maintenance experience and be proficient in documenting aircraft maintenance actions in aircraft forms and automated systems.

  • Must have an active DoD secret security clearance; must be able to maintain eligibility.

  • Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours

  • Able to change physical locations based upon need

  • Ability to be subject to both external and internal environmental conditions

  • Ability to communicate over ambient noise level

  • Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditions & atmospheric

  • Able to wear respirator or other safety gear

  • Ability to be subject to areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed spaces

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical, environmental systems and/or avionics experience on the B-2.

  • Current or previous B-2 program clearance.
